Michelle Shapiro, CORE Group
Michelle Shapiro is the Communications and Knowledge Manager at CORE Group, where she strengthens connections among CORE Group members and the broader International Community Health Network. She also provides support to USAID’s Maternal and Child Survival Program and the CORE Group Polio Project, and she previously supported the USAID Food for Peace-funded TOPS Program. Michelle has over seven years of marketing and communications experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Before joining CORE Group, she spent several months volunteering in Uganda, and previously she worked in marketing at two NYC startups. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Boston University.
Liz Eddy, USAID's Maternal and Child Survival Program, Jhpiego
Liz Eddy is Strategic Communications and Engagement Manager for USAID's flagship Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP), working for lead implementer Jhpiego. Previously she worked as a communications director on Capitol Hill and in communications and administration for The QED Group, LLC. Liz also served as a health volunteer in Nicaragua with the Peace Corps. She has an M.A. in international affairs with an emphasis in communications from The University of Oklahoma, a B.A. in communications from Baylor University, and is a certified graphic designer. Liz originally hails from central Oklahoma. She enjoys instant coffee, hiking in and around the DMV, and that the original Space Jam website is still a thing.
